Minister wounded in Beirut blast - Africa & Middle East - International Herald Tribune: "BEIRUT Lebanon's outgoing pro-Syrian defense minister was wounded Tuesday by a car bomb that killed at least two people and wounded 12 in a residential Christian enclave north of Beirut.
There have been several bombings in Lebanon this year, but the attack Tuesday was the first apparently aimed at a pro-Syrian official.
The bombing came as Lebanon's prime minister designate, Fuad Siniora, held talks in an effort to form a new coalition after the recent election victory of the anti-Syrian opposition, which gained a 72-seat majority in the Parliament.
